Renegda DEA agent and former NYPD officer Max payne attempts to hunt down the ones responsible for mudering his wife and child, as well as framing him for the murder of his partner,alex balder. As the stpry unflods he gains a number of "allies" - most of them are killed off in the sequel- including a russian mafia called valdimir lem and mona sax, a female vigilante who's out to avenge the deaath of her twin sister,Lisa and manags to bring down the ring leaders in major drug operation for narocotic called Valkyr- after the mythological figure im norse mythology.
